Regular Past Tense

The pretérito perfeito is the past tense you reach for to say "I did", "I went", "I ate". For regular verbs, drop the infinitive ending and add these:

Pronoun	-ar (falar)	-er (comer)	-ir (abrir)
Eu	falei	comi	abri
Você / Ele / Ela	falou	comeu	abriu
Nós	falamos	comemos	abrimos
Vocês / Eles / Elas	falaram	comeram	abriram

Notice "nós falamos" is identical to the present tense. Context (and a time word like ontem) tells you which one.
