Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Linguine. By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Linguine offers free interactive language exercises, vocabulary decks, stories, and paid downloadable PDF books. Free content stays free. Paid books are sold per-title and re-downloadable from your library after purchase.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
• You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account.
• One person per account, and don't impersonate anyone else.
• You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Deletion is permanent.

Content

The exercises, stories, illustrations, and books are owned by Linguine or its contributors. Books you purchase are licensed for your personal use — re-selling or redistributing copies isn't allowed.

Content you submit (saved decks, attempts, reviews) stays yours. By submitting it, you give us a limited license to store and display it so the service can function.

Emails and notifications

We send transactional emails (password resets, book receipts, account messages) when needed — these are part of using the service.

If you opt in, we also send engagement emails: lesson reminders, streak nudges, the occasional "new content in your pair" update. You can turn these off at any time from your profile, and every engagement email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Payments and refunds

Book purchases are processed by Stripe. Because digital books can't be "returned," refunds are at our discretion — but if something went wrong (the file didn't download, the content was misrepresented), please get in touch and we'll make it right.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, scrape, or overload the service. Don't use it to harass others. Don't upload illegal or infringing content.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" — we don't warrant it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Linguine isn't liable for indirect damages arising from your use.

Changes

We may update these Terms. If the change is material we'll let you know by email (where possible) before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
