Reflexive Verbs

Reflexive verbs describe actions you perform on yourself — Luana washes herself. In Italian you recognise them by the -si attached to the infinitive (svegliarsi, lavarsi, alzarsi) and by a pronoun before the verb (mi, ti, si, ci, vi, si).

In Italian the reflexive pronoun comes before the conjugated verb: mi alzo, ti svegli. With the infinitive it attaches to the end and merges: voglio alzarmi (I want to get up).
