The Near Future (Ir + Infinitive)

Brazilians have a "real" future tense (comerei, falarei) — but in everyday speech, they don't use it. Instead, they conjugate ir in the present and stick the infinitive next to it.
| Pronoun | Ir + infinitive | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Eu | vou viajar | I'm going to travel |
| Você / Ele / Ela | vai viajar | you/he/she is going to travel |
| Nós | vamos viajar | we're going to travel |
| Vocês / Eles / Elas | vão viajar | you (pl)/they are going to travel |
This works for any verb, no exceptions. Vou comer, vou dormir, vou estudar. It's the future tense Brazilians actually live in.
