Expressing Opinions

When you want to say what you think in Finnish, you have a small toolkit of openers. Some are built on mieli ("mind"): minusta and minun mielestäni both mean "in my opinion". Others lean on a verb — uskon, että… ("I believe that…") or luulen, että… ("I think / suppose that…"). Once your view is on the table, you can meet someone else's with olen samaa mieltä ("I agree") or olen eri mieltä ("I disagree").
