Gostar de & Preferir
Two verbs you'll use every time someone asks "what do you want to do?" — and they don't behave the same way.
| Verb | Pattern | Example |

| gostar | gostar de + noun/verb | Eu gosto de café. — I like coffee. |
| preferir | preferir + noun/verb (no preposition) | Eu prefiro chá. — I prefer tea. |
Forget the de after gostar and you'll sound off — it's the most-corrected mistake of beginners.
