Adjectives: Gender and Number
In Italian, adjectives agree with the noun — in gender and number. There are two groups, depending on the singular ending.
Group 1 — adjectives ending in -o (four forms):
| Form | masculine | feminine |
|---|---|---|
| Singular | nuovo | nuova |
| Plural | nuovi | nuove |
Group 2 — adjectives ending in -e (only two forms — gender doesn't matter):
| Form | masculine & feminine |
|---|---|
| Singular | grande |
| Plural | grandi |
Examples: il libro grande / la casa grande / i libri grandi / le case grandi. felice (happy) and interessante (interesting) belong here too.
