Register and the Business Email
The same idea can be said five different ways in German, each landing at a different social distance. All five mean "send me that" — but you would never use the first with your boss or the last with a friend.
| Phrase | Register | Where you'd use it |
|---|---|---|
| Schick mir das mal. | very informal | friend group |
| Kannst du mir das schicken? | informal | colleague you know well |
| Können Sie mir das schicken? | neutral | most workplace contexts |
| Könnten Sie mir das bitte zusenden? | polite | client, supervisor |
| Würden Sie mir das freundlicherweise zukommen lassen? | formal | first contact, senior person |
