Reflexive verbs, numbers & telling time

Many daily-routine verbs are reflexive: the action falls back on the doer, marked by a little pronoun (me, te, se…) before the verb. se laver means "to wash oneself". In this exercise you practise the reflexive verbs, the numbers from 20 to 100, and telling time.

The numbers 20 to 100

French counts by scores after 69: 70 = soixante-dix (60 + 10), 80 = quatre-vingts (4 × 20), 90 = quatre-vingt-dix (4 × 20 + 10).

Telling time

Time is built on heures: Il est trois heures ("It is three o'clock"). Add et quart (quarter past) or et demie (half past), or count back with moins le quart (quarter to).
