Register and Email

The same idea can be said in Italian in several registers — each with a different social distance. All five mean "send it to me":

Expression Register Where you'd use it
Mandamelo subito. very informal close friends
Me lo mandi? informal a colleague you know well
Me lo puoi inviare? neutral most work situations
Potresti inviarmelo? polite a client, a superior
Potrebbe inviarmelo? formal first contact, a senior person

In writing you stay formal, even when the conversation is casual: the medium chooses the register, not the relationship.

The business email

Every Italian business email follows the same five-part skeleton: Oggetto (subject), Saluto (greeting: Gentile / Egregio), Apertura (opening), Corpo (body) and Chiusura (closing: Cordiali saluti).
