Language learning with a soul.
We make language learning resources that feel less like flashcards and more like stories. Free interactive exercises. Beautiful printable books. Recurring characters you actually like spending time with.
Free exercises, paid depth.
Every exercise on this site is free, forever. Sign in to track your progress and start spaced-repetition reviews, but you never have to. The books are how we keep the lights on — and they're worth their price because they go where the web can't: typography you can hold in your hands, stories that run for hundreds of pages, illustrations that breathe.
AI writes. Humans review.
We use AI to draft language exercises at scale — vocabulary lists, fill-in-the-blank drills, translation prompts, dialogues. Then a human editor reviews every exercise before it's published. That's why each one has an "author" you can see, and why our culture notes feel like a friend whispering in your ear, not boilerplate.
If you find a mistake — and you will, occasionally — let us know. Every fix makes the site better for the next learner.
More languages, same care.
Brazilian Portuguese for English speakers is where we started. German → Portuguese is next. Spanish → Portuguese after that. Eventually, the more exotic pairs: Tagalog, Quechua, Igbo. The same engine and the same editorial care — just more doors.
The characters you'll travel with
The same four show up across every chapter, every exercise, every story. Familiarity is half the language-learning battle.

Bidu
Marcos's golden retriever mix. Doesn't speak Portuguese but understands vamos passear perfectly.

Luana
Your friendly Rio neighbour. Knows every café, every feira, every shortcut. Always smiling.

Marcos
Hosts the Sunday lunches. Calm, thoughtful, gently corrects your grammar without making you feel small.

Marina
Just arrived in Rio. Energetic, curious, asks all the questions you wish you'd asked yourself.
