    • Plurais irregulares: foot → feet, tooth → teeth. E back é singular: my back.

Dores, febre e resfriado com have got, “I feel…” — e por que “estou com dor” não vira “I'm with”.

    • O que você está com: I've got / I have + a headache, a sore throat, a cough, a cold, a temperature, flu — nunca I'm with.
    • -ache é dor: headache, stomach ache, toothache, earache, backache.
    • Com be, não com have: I'm hungry, thirsty, cold, hot, tired.
    • feel, sem “me”: I feel ill, I don't feel well, I feel better. Pergunta: How are you feeling?
    • I feel sick é estar enjoado; resfriado é a cold, e flu é a gripe de verdade.
    • Para alguém doente: Poor you! · Get well soon!

    • Para marcar consulta: I'd like to make an appointment, please.
    • Desde quando: I've had + sintoma + for + tempo (for three days) ou since + momento (since Monday). Nunca since three days.
    • How long have you had…? — Há quanto tempo você está com…?
    • need to + verbo: You need to rest; need + substantivo, sem of.

At the chemist's: remédios e instruções

    • the chemist's (UK) = the pharmacy = a farmácia; nos Estados Unidos, drugstore.
    • Para pedir: Have you got anything for…? · Can I have…, please?
    • Remédio se take: I take a tablet. O café, com have.
    • Frequência: once / twice / three times a day, every four hours, after meals, on an empty stomach.
