New concept
Three verbs you can't do without
The most common Italian verbs are, of course, the irregular ones. These three you've already met in passing — here they are side by side:
| Pronoun | andare — to go | fare — to do, make | venire — to come |
|---|---|---|---|
| io | vado | faccio | vengo |
| tu | vai | fai | vieni |
| lui / lei | va | fa | viene |
| noi | andiamo | facciamo | veniamo |
| voi | andate | fate | venite |
| loro | vanno | fanno | vengono |
Notice how noi and voi are almost regular — the surprises are in io, tu, lui/lei and loro. Venire adds a g in vengo and vengono, and an ie in vieni and viene.
