Adjectives follow — and agree
Most French adjectives come after the noun, and they agree with it: add -e for feminine, -s for plural, -es for both.
| Singular | Plural | |
|---|---|---|
| Masculine | un ami content | des amis contents |
| Feminine | une amie contente | des amies contentes |
The same happens after être: Marcos est content. Marina est contente.
An adjective that already ends in -e doesn't change for the feminine: un ami drôle, une amie drôle (funny).
Words for this lesson: content (happy), fatigué (tired), petit (small), grand (big, tall), intéressant (interesting), délicieux (delicious), drôle (funny), calme (calm), gentil (kind) — and la ville, the city.
