New concept
From head to foot
| Finnish | English | Finnish | English |
|---|---|---|---|
| pää | head | kurkku | throat |
| silmä | eye | käsi | hand, arm |
| korva | ear | jalka | foot, leg |
| nenä | nose | vatsa | stomach |
| suu | mouth | selkä | back |
| hammas | tooth | sydän | heart |
Two words do double duty: käsi is both hand and arm, and jalka is both foot and leg. Finns add detail only when it matters.
Hold the long vowels: pää (head) is a long, open ää. A short pä isn't a word at all.
