• sollte — should, ought to: Du solltest mehr schlafen. — You should sleep more.
• müsste — would have to, really ought to: Ich müsste eigentlich los. — I really ought to be going.
• könnte — could, as a soft suggestion: Du könntest ihn ja anrufen. — You could always call him.
• An deiner Stelle würde ich… — If I were you, I'd…: An deiner Stelle würde ich Nein sagen.

Sollte looks exactly like the Präteritum of sollen: Ich sollte um acht da sein can mean I was supposed to be there at eight. Context decides — and in advice, it's the Konjunktiv II.
