Ago steht hinter der Zeitangabe — genau andersherum als das deutsche vor: vor zwei Tagen → two days ago. Nie ago two days und auf keinen Fall before two days — before heißt bevor oder vorher, nicht vor + Zeitraum.

Um eine Geschichte der Reihe nach zu erzählen: First, we walked to the lake. Then we had lunch. After that, we went back to the village.
