Demonstrativa und Kleidung in der Boutique

  1. 1

    This, that, these, those

Nah oder fern, Singular oder Plural — und this one, damit du das Nomen nicht wiederholen musst.

    • Das Englische unterscheidet immer: this / these (nah) und that / those (fern).
    • Kein Geschlecht: this dress, this shirt. Aber Singular und Plural: this → these, that → those.
    • This („dis“) und these („dihs“) klingen verschieden.
    • Ohne das Nomen zu wiederholen: this one, the blue one, the black ones — nie the blue allein.
    • Nach dem Preis fragen: How much is this? / How much are these?

    • Trousers und jeans sind Plural: my jeans are new, try them on, a pair of trousers.
    • Farben stehen vorn und bleiben gleich: two red dresses; hell/dunkel ebenso: light blue, dark green.
    • Im Laden: What size are you?, Can I try it on?, the changing rooms, I'll take it.
    • Deutsche 36 ist ungefähr britische 10.

    Cheaper, more expensive: vergleichen

-er für kurze Wörter, more für lange, than für „als“ — und as … as für „so … wie“.

    • Kurze Adjektive: -er than — cheaper than, bigger than, prettier than.
    • Lange Adjektive: more … than — more expensive than. Nie more cheaper, nie expensiver.
    • als im Vergleich = than — nicht as, nicht then.
    • as … as = so … wie (nicht as … like); not as … as = nicht so … wie.
    • costs more / costs less; Ausnahmen: good → better, bad → worse.

    Vintage in Camden

Was kostet das? Geht da noch was am Preis? Marina und Luana gehen in Camden shoppen — und finden einen grünen Mantel.

    • How much is it? / How much are they? — It's £40.
    • cheap, expensive, a bit expensive; it costs less.
    • Vergleichen: more beautiful than, cheaper than, as beautiful as.
    • Can I pay by card? — in London zahlt man fast alles contactless.
    • „Bekomme ich…?“ = Can I have…? — nie Can I become…?
    • Im Geschäft wird nicht gehandelt, am Marktstand manchmal: Would you take thirty?
