Je vais voyager : be going to
Pour parler de projets et d'intentions — ce que tu as déjà décidé de faire —, l'anglais emploie be going to + infinitif. C'est presque exactement le français aller + infinitif (je vais voyager), avec une différence : il faut le verbe be.
| Pronoun | be | going to | verb |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | am ('m) | going to | travel |
| he / she / it | is ('s) | going to | swim |
| you / we / they | are ('re) | going to | stay |
- We*'re going to travel** to Cornwall in July.* — Nous allons voyager en Cornouailles en juillet.
- Luana is going to buy presents. — Luana va acheter des cadeaux.
L'erreur typique d'un francophone, c'est le calque de je vais voyager : ~~I go to travel~~. Ou l'oubli du verbe : ~~I going to travel~~. Sans am / is / are, pas de futur.
Mots nouveaux : to book — réserver ; to pack — faire sa valise ; to stay — rester, loger ; a week — une semaine.
