Conceito novo
The futuro semplice
Italian builds its future in one word. Take the infinitive, drop the final -e, and for -are verbs change the a to e. Then add -ò, -ai, -à, -emo, -ete, -anno:
| Pronoun | Parlare | Prendere | Dormire |
|---|---|---|---|
| io | parlerò | prenderò | dormirò |
| tu | parlerai | prenderai | dormirai |
| lui / lei | parlerà | prenderà | dormirà |
| noi | parleremo | prenderemo | dormiremo |
| voi | parlerete | prenderete | dormirete |
| loro | parleranno | prenderanno | dormiranno |
So -are and -ere verbs end up identical: parler-, prender-; -ire verbs keep their i: dormir-.
The accents on -ò and -à are not optional: they mark the stress, and parlerà (he will speak) is not parlera.
