Besides -are, Italian verbs end in -ere or -ire. Their endings are almost identical:

Pronoun Prendere (to take, to have) Leggere (to read) Dormire (to sleep)
io prendo leggo dormo
tu prendi leggi dormi
lui / lei / Lei prende legge dorme
noi prendiamo leggiamo dormiamo
voi prendete leggete dormite
loro prendono leggono dormono

The only difference is voi: -ete for -ere verbs, -ite for -ire verbs. Compared with -are, the lui / lei form ends in -e (not -a) and loro in -ono (not -ano).

Prendere is the verb for ordering food and drink: Prendo un caffè — I'll have a coffee.
