Pronouns have their own object forms
When the object is a pronoun, the total object doesn't end in -n — the personal pronouns have a special -t form:
| Pronoun | Total object | Partial object |
|---|---|---|
| minä | minut | minua |
| sinä | sinut | sinua |
| hän | hänet | häntä |
| me | meidät | meitä |
| te | teidät | teitä |
| he | heidät | heitä |
| se (it) | sen | sitä |
| ne (they, things) | ne | niitä |
The same rules choose the form:
- complete → total: Näen sinut huomenna. — I'll see you tomorrow. Otan sen. — I'll take it.
- ongoing, a feeling, or negative → partial: Rakastan sinua. — I love you. En ota sitä. — I won't take it.
