From head to foot

Finnish English Finnish English
pää head kurkku throat
silmä eye käsi hand, arm
korva ear jalka foot, leg
nenä nose vatsa stomach
suu mouth selkä back
hammas tooth sydän heart

Two words do double duty: käsi is both hand and arm, and jalka is both foot and leg. Finns add detail only when it matters.

Hold the long vowels: pää (head) is a long, open ää. A short pä isn't a word at all.
