Conceito novo

Going to…
The everyday way to talk about the future is ir in the present + a + an infinitive — just like English going to:
| Pronoun | Ir | + a + infinitive | English |
|---|---|---|---|
| yo | voy | a viajar | I'm going to travel |
| tú | vas | a comer | you're going to eat |
| él / ella / usted | va | a comprar | he's / she's going to buy |
| nosotros | vamos | a salir | we're going to go out |
| vosotros | vais | a nadar | you're going to swim |
| ellos / ellas / ustedes | van | a dormir | they're going to sleep |
- Only ir changes; the second verb stays in the infinitive.
- Don't drop the a: Voy a viajar, never voy viajar.
- In conversation it covers English will as well: Mañana voy a trabajar. — I'll be working tomorrow.
- Vamos a + infinitive can also mean let's: ¡Vamos a comer! — Let's eat!
