Pose-toi deux questions : de quel moment je parle ? et est-ce réel ou imaginé ?

Une même idée change de type selon à quel point tu la trouves réelle :

• If I get the job, I'll move to London. — C'est possible : je ne sais pas encore.
• If I got the job, I'd move to London. — J'y crois peu, ou je l'imagine seulement.
• If I'd got the job, I'd have moved to London. — Je ne l'ai pas eu.
