The same request can be made at very different levels. From blunt to formal:

Je vous serais reconnaissant(e) de bien vouloir m'envoyer le fichier.	formal writing

• The conditional — pourriez, auriez, serais — softens. Inversion (Pourriez-vous… ?) sounds more formal than Vous pourriez… ?, though both are polite.
• Bien vouloir — kindly — belongs to formal requests.
• Reconnaissant (grateful) agrees with the writer: Marina writes reconnaissante.
