Too and either: -kin and -kaan

English adds too or either as separate words. Finnish glues a tail onto the word it's about — after every other ending:

Positive: -kin (too, also, even) Negative: -kaan / -kään (either)
Minäkin tulen. — I'm coming too. En minäkään tule. — I'm not coming either.
Sekin on hyvä. — That's good too. Ei sekään auta. — That doesn't help either.
Helsingissäkin sataa. — It's raining in Helsinki too. Helsingissäkään ei sada. — It isn't raining in Helsinki either.

The rule English speakers need: -kin in positive sentences, -kaan / -kään in negative ones. Never mix them — ~~en minäkin~~ is wrong.

Vowel harmony picks -kaan or -kään, as always: talossakaan, minäkään.
