Vale may be the most Spanish word there is — you'll hear it dozens of times a day. Venga shifts with the tone: encouragement, agreement or a cheerful goodbye. Tío and tía literally mean uncle and aunt; among friends they're mate, and un tío is simply a guy. Majo / maja — nice, likeable.
