No “will” needed
English needs will or going to for the future. German usually doesn't: the present tense plus a time expression does the job.
- Morgen fahre ich nach Hamburg. — I'm going to Hamburg tomorrow.
- Nächstes Jahr reisen wir nach Italien. — Next year we're travelling to Italy.
- Heute Abend koche ich Spaghetti. — I'm cooking spaghetti tonight.
Even without a time word, the situation often makes it clear: Ich rufe dich an! — I'll call you!
