O Passado
Simple past — o que aconteceu ontem
- 1
Walked, played, studied: o passado regular
Uma forma só para todas as pessoas, três sons para o -ed — e yesterday, last night, last week.
Lektion öffnen- Passado regular: verbo + -ed, igual para todas as pessoas: I walked, she walked.
- Ortografia: live → lived, study → studied, play → played, stop → stopped, travel → travelled (britânico).
- O -ed soa “t” (walked), “d” (played) ou “id” (wanted); só depois de t ou d ganha uma sílaba — e nada de vogal extra no fim.
- yesterday, last night (nunca yesterday night), last week, last Saturday — last sem the.
- O nosso pretérito perfeito (trabalhei) é o past simple (worked).

Went, saw, bought: os irregulares
Os passados irregulares mais frequentes — e was e were, o passado de to be.
Lektion öffnen- Os irregulares mais comuns: went, had, did, made, ate, drank, saw, bought, got, took, came, said, lost.
- Também são iguais para todas as pessoas: I went, she went, they went.
- was (I, he, she, it) / were (you, we, they) — era, estava, foi.
- How was…? — Como foi…? It was brilliant!
- had serve para refeições e experiências: had lunch, had a great time.

Did you…? I didn't: perguntas e negativas no passado
Did faz no passado o que do faz no presente — e o verbo volta à forma base: didn't go, nunca didn't went.
Lektion öffnen- did é o auxiliar do passado, igual para todos: Did you…? / I didn't…
- Depois de did e didn't, o verbo na forma base: Did you go? I didn't buy it. Nunca didn't went.
- Respostas curtas: Yes, I did. / No, I didn't. — não Yes, I liked.
- Com palavra interrogativa: Where did you go? What did she say?
- To be não usa did: Were you tired? — Yes, I was.
- Se who é o sujeito, sem did: Who ate the cake?

Um fim de semana no Lake District
Last weekend, two days ago, first… then… — e o Marcos conta a trilha pelas montanhas com o Bidu.
Lektion öffnen- last weekend, last month, last year — last sem the.
- ago vem depois, como atrás: two days ago = dois dias atrás, há dois dias.
- Para contar em ordem: first… then… after that… in the end.
- No britânico: at the weekend e travelled, com l dobrado.
- Uma história no passado mistura regulares (walked, stopped) e irregulares (went, took, had).

Have you ever…? O present perfect
Have/has + particípio: experiências (ever, never), o tempo que ainda não acabou (today, this week) e novidades (just, already, yet) — e quando não usar.
Lektion öffnen- have / has + particípio: I've seen, she's gone; regulares = passado (worked), irregulares para decorar (been, done, seen, gone, eaten).
- Experiência sem quando: ever / never — Have you ever been to Scotland?
- Tempo que ainda não acabou: today, this week, since May — I've drunk three coffees today.
- Novidades: just, already antes do particípio, yet no fim — I've just eaten. I haven't finished yet.
- Com um quando terminado (yesterday, last week, in 2019) → past simple: I saw him yesterday, nunca I have seen him yesterday.
- O britânico usa o present perfect mais que o americano: I've just eaten × I just ate.
