Neues Konzept

Tener: to have

Tener means to have. Like ser and estar, it's irregular:

Pronoun Tener English
yo tengo I have
tú tienes you have
él / ella / usted tiene he, she has / you (formal) have
nosotros / nosotras tenemos we have
vosotros / vosotras tenéis you (a group) have
ellos / ellas / ustedes tienen they have / you (formal, a group) have

Two patterns help: yo gets a g — tengo — and the stem changes to tien- in tienes, tiene, tienen. Nosotros and vosotros keep the plain ten-.
